SkyNav GNSS Module

The SkyNav GNSS Module provides a complete navigation solution, based on the best sensors on the market, while being fully compatible with the PixHawk standard and pinout. based on the uBlox NEO series of receivers, paired with a high accuracy compass and optional barometer and designed for working on L1 + L5 bands, the SkyNav module family offers superior performance in GNSS contested environments. There are two versions of the SkyNav module: SkyNav Standard - Our most optimized module for SWaP-C, for missions where cost is tight but performance is important. SkyNav Pro RTK - based on the uBlox F9P RTK receiver, where extreme centimeter-level accuracy is a must, without any compromises. We know how important a quick warm-start is, so we integrated an onboard backup battery, for getting a 3D-Fix in no time.

Overview

The SkyNav GNSS Module provides a complete navigation solution, based on the best sensors on the market, while being fully compatible with the PixHawk standard and pinout. based on the uBlox NEO series of receivers, paired with a high accuracy compass and optional barometer and designed for working on L1 + L5 bands, the SkyNav module family offers superior performance in GNSS contested environments. Standard vs. Pro RTK

Two configurations built on the same board, sharing the same footprint and connector. Choose the receiver, compass, and RTK capability that match your platform.

Interfaces & pinout

Designed to integrate with existing Pixhawk / Cube-standard airframes without rewiring or custom adapters.

Standard pinout

SkyNav uses the Pixhawk / Cube GPS connector standard. If your airframe is wired for a HERE2 or compatible module, SkyNav plugs in directly.

UART + I2C

Dual-interface communication: UART for GNSS data, I2C for compass and barometer. No custom drivers required on ArduPilot or PX4.

Optional barometer

The onboard Bosch DPS368 barometer can be enabled for altitude reference in enclosed airframes where no external air opening exists.

Pinout drawing is being prepared for publication. Contact engineering for the current revision.

Software & firmware

SkyNav communicates via UART + I2C and is supported on the following firmware platforms.

  • ArduPilot Supported
  • PX4 Supported
  • INAV Supported
  • BetaFlight Standard only Only the Standard configuration is currently supported. SkyNav Pro RTK support is coming soon.
Compliance & export
100% NDAA compliant, built on high-quality non-Chinese components.

Country of origin, customs classification and export position are stated on the shipping & compliance page.

Known limitations
BetaFlight support is configuration-dependent
Only SkyNav Standard is supported on BetaFlight today. Pro RTK support is in progress and is not yet available.
The barometer is an option, not a default
The onboard Bosch DPS368 is optional on both configurations. Specify it if the flight stack is enclosed without an air opening.
FAQ
What is the difference between SkyNav Standard and Pro RTK?

The Pro RTK uses the uBlox NEO-F9P receiver (vs NEO-F10N in Standard) and adds RTK capability for centimeter-level positioning. Both share the same footprint, connector, and barometer option.

Which flight firmware does SkyNav support?

ArduPilot and PX4 are fully supported on both configurations. INAV is supported. BetaFlight currently supports the Standard version only; Pro RTK support is coming soon.

Is SkyNav compatible with my existing airframe?

SkyNav uses the Pixhawk / Cube standard GPS pinout. If your vehicle is already wired for a compatible module such as HERE2, SkyNav is plug and play with no adapter needed.

Do I need the barometer option?

The barometer is optional. It is useful when the flight stack is enclosed without an air opening, where the flight controller's internal barometer cannot get an accurate reading.
